THE 2009 GAMMY NOMINEES ARE IN!
And I am not one of them.
I am not surprised though.
When I first got the news that I was on the ballot, I knew that the chances of getting nominated where more likely to NOT happen than they where to happen.
This is not because I am not good enough. I believe I am. But I am realistic in the knowledge that I am not famous. There are thousands of voting members that make up the membership of the academy and if they don't know who I am I am more than likely going to get passed on for someone they do know about.
This is not being negative, or cynical. I am a positive thinker, but I am not a magical thinker. I don't believe that if you wish hard enough you will get anything you want. I believe that if you work hard enough you can achieve what you want.
Even though getting a Grammy is not what I am working in music for, getting on the ballot was something I achieved through hard work. And I take pride in that. I will even work harder next year to accomplish even more.
Congratulations to all the nominees and I look forward to next years telecast and seeing all the live performances like I do every year
